Central Mille Lacs United Way is a non-profit 501-c3-organization serving Central Mille Lacs County. The primary purpose of United Way is to partner with non-profits that serve our area and who assist us in meeting United Way community needs. Last year, we distributed $32,560.47 to 25 partner organizations serving Central Mille Lacs County. These charities are local, state, or national organizations serving the following needs:
Services for Older Adults and People with Disabilities
Encourage Child and Community Development
Disease Prevention and Health Concerns
Prevent Violence, Abuse, and Chemical Dependency
An Additional partner is the Charities Review Council
Our Central Mille Lacs United Way consists of a 15 member
consisting of local people or members of local recipients. The board
has three committees to assist with the operation of United Way. The
Budget and Admissions Committee annually reviews and approves partner
charities. The Campaign Committee annually solicits funds to meet the
campaign goal. The Promotions Committee promotes the United Way
organization in the community.
Central Mille Lacs United Way raise funds through payroll deductions and an annual mail campaign to the residents of Central Mille Lacs area of Milaca, Foreston, Pease, and Bock and from GiveMN.org contributions and Give to the Max contributions. Since we are a local volunteer organization, our expenses are low and we are able to direct more funds to the charities approved by the board.
As a local organization, we pay a small annual fee to the National and State United Way for the assistance they provide to our local United Way for advertizing and campaign materials.
The 2015 Campaign goal is $40,000 for partner approved charities who help us meet the five identified community needs.
Thank you for you past support and participation into the Central Mille Lacs United Way payroll deduction plan.
